We explore all the ways creators large and small are driving pop culture, and share insights you can't find anywhere else.

The Opportunity
YouTube had access to countless fascinating stories and stats about trends on the platform that weren’t being told. They wanted to be able to share these stories - and highlight the global communities involved - in a longer-form and more nuanced way than short videos…a way that’s perfectly suited to a podcast.
The Process
I guided YouTube’s Culture & Trends team through a strategic creative development process, working closely with various stakeholders to develop the show from idea through production and launch.
The result was Like & Describe: The Official YouTube Trends Podcast. The show explores little known stories behind the biggest YouTube trends.
I assembled the right team for the job, overseeing all aspects of audio production and providing strategic guidance to YouTube on their first-ever trends podcast. Over the course of 7 episodes, we experimented with different formats, such as the narrative-style ASMR: The Truth Behind the Tingle, and the video-first Can MatPat guess the Trending Topics of 2023?
